What is psychoanalytic psychotherapy?
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is a talking therapy
that seeks to understand the meaning in symptoms and patterns
of behaviour, and the distress and difficulties they may
cause. It is concerned with the whole person, his or her
background, culture and history, their past and present
relationships.
Psychoanalytic psychotherapists undertake a long and
rigorous training that enables them to understand and
help people experiencing chronic and deep-seated difficulties.
The aim of psychoanalytic psychotherapy is to help
you to live more fully and satisfactorily in the present,
engage actively in the world, and face your future creatively.
